The Health thematic area of SSRF is dedicated to addressing critical health challenges in conflict-affected areas, focusing primarily on HIV, tuberculosis (TB), leprosy, and sexual reproductive health. Recognizing the urgent need for improved health services, SSRF aims to enhance healthcare access, promote awareness, and reduce the prevalence of these diseases among vulnerable populations, particularly women and youth.

Key Activities:

HIV and TB Prevention and Treatment:

  • Implementing awareness campaigns on HIV and TB prevention, testing, and
  • Facilitating access to antiretroviral therapy (ART) for HIV-positive individuals and ensuring adherence to treatment.
  • Conducting outreach programs to encourage TB screening and provide follow-up treatment for affected individuals

Leprosy Awareness and Management:

  • Raising awareness about leprosy, its symptoms, and the importance of early diagnosis and treatment to prevent disability.
  • Providing access to medical care and rehabilitation services for individuals affected by leprosy

Sexual Reproductive Health Education:

  • Promoting sexual reproductive health education, including family planning, maternal health, and sexually transmitted infections (STIs).
  • Distributing contraceptive methods and providing counselling services to empower individuals to make informed health choices.
  • Organizing community dialogues to discuss sexual health issues, stigma, and gender-based violence, fostering an environment of openness and support.

Training Community Health Workers:

  • Equipping community health workers with the skills to deliver essential health services, including education on HIV, TB, leprosy, and sexual reproductive
  • Providing ongoing support and resources to ensure the effectiveness of health interventions at the community level.
